Standard Hen Houses

With two distinct ranges, our deluxe range of chicken coops and products and our Standard Express range of fast shipping chicken coops.

Our standard range of hen houses, or as some may refer to chicken coops, offers a fast delivery, cost-effective option of coops and chicken runs that are delivered flat packed; most are available next working day from stock. These are being used as Cat runs, Rabbit Hutches, Chicken Coops, Duck houses, Ferret runs, etc, so they are very versatile. The Chicken House Company prides itself on offering a large range of housing to suit everyone's needs and budgets, contact us if you need any further information or help in choosing a chicken coop.

Sturdy, strong, pine wood chicken coops

The express range coops are made from heat treated pine wood that has a cladding thickness of 10mm, and framing that is approx 34mm x 25mm, the units do come treated but we advise treating again with a good quality solvent or oil based product to protect against the British weather.

These units have been sold by us for over 15 years, with many thousands sold to happy customers, if you're looking for a more heavy duty product please look at our deluxe range of units which are British built in our workshop.

With two distinct ranges, our express range of chicken coops are the perfect price point for getting your chickens houses. In stock and ready to ship all year round. For more customisable houses, then look at our deluxe chicken coops.

Which coop do I need for my number of hens?

As a rough guide, the CC047 suits 2 to 4 hens, the CC007HR and CC054 suit around 3 to 6 hens, and the CC058 is our most popular model and suits 6 to 12 hens. The CC002H is the largest in this range and is a good choice if you want room to grow. If you are not sure which one to go for, we are always happy to help.

How quickly will my coop be delivered?

All our express range coops are in stock and go out within 1 to 3 working days. Order before 2pm for next-day dispatch on most products.

Do I need to treat the wood when it arrives?

Your coop arrives pre-treated, but we recommend giving it another coat of a good quality solvent or oil-based wood preservative before use. This protects the wood against British weather and extends the life of your coop. Once a year as part of your regular maintenance is ideal.

How long does it take to put together?

Most customers have their coop assembled within a couple of hours. Everything needed is included and no specialist tools are required. Having a second pair of hands for some of the panels makes the job easier.

Can I add an automatic door opener?

Yes. All the coops in this range work with automatic pop hole door openers. An automatic door is a great addition if you are not always home at dusk, as it closes the coop for you so your hens are safely locked in overnight.

What is the difference between the express range and your deluxe range?

The express range coops are flat-pack, made from heat-treated pine, and available to ship all year round. They are a solid, good-value choice for most backyard chicken keepers. Our deluxe range coops are British-built in our Berkshire workshop, made to order, and come with a 10-year manufacturing guarantee. They take 3 to 5 weeks from your order date. The right choice comes down to your budget, your timeline and how long you want your coop to last.
