Deluxe Redwood Chicken Coops in large and small sizes - made in the UK
We have been building chicken coops for many years, and most of the designs are based on our experience in poultry keeping, to make life as easy and practical as possible. All our units have heavy duty fittings, 19g mesh, 12mm shiplap cladding, 34mm x 34mm frame on the house areas and 34mm x 45mm frame on the run areas, and a design which will enhance any garden. With most models having many options available as standard you can tailor your product to your individual needs, or if there is a feature or modification you would like then contact us and we can normally add that in.
With two distinct ranges, our deluxe range of chicken coops and products and our Express range of fast shipping chicken coops.
How do I choose between the different models in the deluxe range?
The main difference across the range is size and hen capacity. The Windsor and Balmoral suit flocks of up to 12 hens. The Sandringham accommodates up to 16.
Our walk-in models give you full standing access inside the run, which many keepers find makes daily care much easier. If you are not sure which suits your garden and your flock, get in touch and we will help you decide.
How long does a deluxe coop take to arrive?
Every coop in our deluxe range is built to order in our Berkshire workshop. Please allow 3 to 5 weeks from your order date. If you need your coop sooner, we offer a 10-day express manufacturing option at checkout. Free delivery is included on orders over £300.
What is the difference between the standard and upgraded mesh?
All our deluxe coops are fitted with 19-gauge welded mesh as standard, which is suitable for keeping chickens secure from most predators. If you want extra protection against foxes and badgers, you can upgrade to 16-gauge mesh when you order. The heavier gauge has smaller gaps and is significantly harder to force or bite through.
Can I customise a deluxe coop to suit my needs?
Yes. Most models come with a range of configurable options including run extensions, roof choices and mesh upgrades.
If there is a specific feature or modification you need that is not shown, contact us before you order and we can usually accommodate it. Every coop is built to order, which means changes are easiest to agree before we start building.
How do I look after a deluxe coop to make it last?
Our deluxe coops are built from fully treated redwood and designed to last well over 10 years with basic maintenance. We recommend applying a fresh coat of good quality wood treatment once a year, particularly before winter. Keeping the coop clean and well-ventilated also makes a big difference.
Can I add an automatic door opener to a deluxe coop?
Yes. All our deluxe coops are compatible with automatic pop hole door openers. This is a popular addition for keepers who are not always home at dusk, as the door closes automatically so your hens are safely locked in overnight. You will find the full range in our Pop Hole Openers section.
